About the Role



Key duties include conducting Ekahau Wi-Fi/RF surveys for coverage assessment and issue identification, configuring diverse network elements (APs, switches, controllers, routers, firewalls), and leading network migrations across various facility sizes. The position requires extensive travel and strong communication to manage projects, coordinate teams, and ensure network performance and quality.



Responsibilities



  • Lead RF Network Planning and Design: Design, upgrade, technically oversee, and support 3G, 4G, 5G, and Wi-Fi networks over fiber or copper infrastructure, both externally and within buildings.
  • Conduct Advanced Wi-Fi/RF Site Surveys: Execute and evaluate Wi-Fi/RF surveys utilizing Ekahau hardware and software to accurately assess authorized equipment coverage, evaluate Wi-Fi coverage models based on customer KPIs, and identify radio frequency interference (RFI) or rogue devices.
  • Oversee Network Implementation and Configuration: Lead and perform the configuration of new and legacy network elements, including Access Points (APs), switches, controllers, routers, and firewalls, across various vendor platforms such as Cisco (Meraki, Catalyst), Juniper (Mist), and Aruba.
  • Manage Complex Network Migrations and Deployments: Take full ownership of assigned sites from initial design and survey through cutover and closeout documentation submittal.
  • Optimize Network Performance and Architecture: Analyze and provide recommendations for enterprise network architecture to ensure expected latency and bandwidth for optimal Wi-Fi performance.
  • Provide Technical Support and Troubleshooting: Offer technical support for diagnosing and resolving customer equipment issues.
  • Lead Project Teams and Manage Resources: Manage small teams (2-6 individuals) with diverse roles and skills to accomplish network migrations.
  • Develop and Maintain Technical Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation and database information for company reference.
  • Strategic Planning and Budget Management: Engage in the planning, selection, upgrade, and evaluation of networking equipment used in Cellular, Transport, Fiber, DAS, and Wi-Fi networks.



Qualifications



  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, or a closely related technical field is highly preferred. Equivalent work experience may be considered as an alternative to a degree.
  • Experience: A minimum of five (5) years of experience in a lead Engineer position is required. Field experience is also preferred.



Required Skills



  • Expert-level knowledge and extensive practical experience in configuring and implementing networking equipment from leading Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).
  • Strong understanding of LAN/WAN networking design and implementation solutions.
  • Thorough knowledge of structured cable installation.
  • Fundamental knowledge of security protocols and authentication methods.



Preferred Skills



  • Expert knowledge on the configuration and implementation of Wireless Local Area Networks (WLANs).
  • Proficiency in RF network planning and design.
  • Ability to conduct Wi-Fi/RF surveys with Ekahau hardware and software.
