- Field Inspection & Quality Control:
- Perform comprehensive field inspections of OSP infrastructure, including aerial, buried, and underground fiber/copper networks, to ensure all elements meet construction, safety, and quality standards.
- Conduct pre-construction site surveys to identify potential issues, obstructions, and necessary "Make Ready" work prior to construction or splicing teams being deployed.
- Verify and document adherence to engineering prints, plans, and technical specifications for all installation activities.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Accurately record detailed field notes, photographs, and measurements of existing and proposed facilities.
- Generate precise inspection reports, documenting all findings, including defects, non-compliance issues, and required corrective actions (redlines).
- Ensure all project documentation and close-out packages are complete, accurate, and submitted in a timely manner.
- Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:
- Diagnose and troubleshoot technical problems related to plant readiness and construction quality.
- Collaborate with field crews, supervisors, and engineering teams to resolve issues identified during the inspection process.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Promote and enforce all company safety policies and procedures at job sites.
What You’ll Need
- Experience: 3 years of experience in telecommunications OSP construction, installation, maintenance, or inspection (fiber, coax, copper).
- Technical Proficiency:
- Strong ability to read and interpret construction blueprints, network diagrams, and GIS maps.
- Working knowledge of OSP construction techniques, practices, and materials for aerial and underground utilities.
- Proficiency with measurement tools, testing equipment, and electronic devices (e.g., tablet, GPS devices) for field data collection.
- Attributes:
- Acute attention to detail and a commitment to quality control.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for professional interaction with field crews, clients, and subcontractors.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage a flexible daily schedule with frequent travel.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physically demanding work outdoors in various weather conditions and environments.
- License: Valid Driver's License required.
