We’re seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Human Resources Director to join our credit union team. This role plays a vital part in supporting our mission to serve members and employees with integrity, respect, and care. You’ll be responsible for a wide range of HR functions, from recruitment and benefits administration to employee relations and compliance—helping ensure a positive workplace culture aligned with our cooperative values.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and support daily HR operations, ensuring compliance with credit union policies and state/federal regulations
- Assist in developing, updating, and communicating HR policies, procedures, and employee programs
- Maintain and update the employee handbook and policy manuals
- Conduct new employee onboarding and orientation to promote engagement and and lead exit interviews for departing employees
- Lead payroll processing and ensure accurate, confidential employee recordkeeping
- Coordinate employee benefits programs, including enrollments, changes, and terminations
- Partner with managers to support recruitment, including posting positions, screening candidates, and conducting interviews
- Provide guidance to staff and leaders on HR matters such as policies, benefits, and performance management
- Support supervisors through progressive discipline and coaching processes
- Conduct and document workplace investigations and assist in resolving employee concerns in a fair, timely manner
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (preferred)
- 3 -5 years of experience in an HR generalist or related HR role; financial services or credit union experience preferred
- Experience with QuickBooks Payroll or similar HRIS/payroll systems preferred
- Strong understanding of HR compliance, confidentiality, and employment law
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust at all levels
- High attention to detail, professionalism, and commitment to credit union values of service and integrity
