What are the responsibilities and job description for the Casting Call - En el patio de Atrás/In the Backyard position at Telón de Agave?
DESCRIPTION
"En el patio de atrás/In the Backyard", is a staged reading of the play written by the Voces de Diversidad collective, with dramaturgical treatment by Luis Ceceña and Armando Legaspy, to be produced by Telón de Agave for its NYC premiere.
About the play:
-----
At Adam and Eve Academy, a group of students find themselves increasingly targeted by a school system determined to enforce rigid ideas about gender, sexuality, and identity. After being punished and sent to the school's forbidden backyard, they discover the ghost of Natalia, altering the path of how they will learn to stand up for themselves.
Together, the students form their protest group, and begin to challenge the institution that has tried to silence them. Through humor, friendship, and resistance, In the Backyard explores queer identity, adolescence, discrimination, and the power of finding your voice.
It is to be noted that there will be two different casts that will preform the play in Spanish or English respectively.
