Summary
Work in a team-based manufacturing lab environment responsible for packing and testing ion exchange media used in chromatography consumables. The role involves executing production processes, performing testing, ensuring quality compliance, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Perform testing and qualification of resin products using specialized instruments.
- Accurately record, analyze, and report test results with proper documentation.
- Execute complex production work-orders as per established procedures.
- Analyze data, derive conclusions, and prepare detailed reports.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet operational goals.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 standards and corporate quality policies.
- Follow EH&S safety guidelines and participate in safety improvement initiatives.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and propose solutions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the laboratory environment.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biotechnology, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), with familiarity in ISO standards, QSRs, and IVD regulations.
- Experience using common laboratory and hand tools such as wrenches, torque drivers, and tweezers.
- Hands-on laboratory experience in a chemistry or biotechnology environment preferred, with working knowledge of chromatography techniques or related software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to read, interpret, and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and technical instructions accurately.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to interpret data and draw meaningful conclusions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document and report findings clearly.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining a high level of accountability and a results-driven mindset.
- Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced production environment.
- Willingness to learn, adapt, and apply new technologies and continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean and PPI.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English, along with basic mathematical proficiency (including fractions and decimals).
- Strong adherence to compliance requirements, including GMP, QSRs, ISO, and IVD regulatory standards.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and perform tasks that require standing, walking, and extended use of hands.
- Comfortable working in a laboratory environment with exposure to chemicals, fumes, airborne particles, and moderate noise levels, including occasional interaction with moving mechanical parts.
- Willingness and ability to consistently use required personal protective equipment (PPE), including lab coats, safety glasses, gloves, and safety shoes.
