Job Description:
Sample / Material Logistics Coordinator Duties:
Material Shipping & Logistics:
- Shipping: Coordinate and execute shipments of primarily non-hazardous research materials, including temperature-controlled items, e.g. peptides, proteins, monomers, to Client & other approved sites following IATA/DOT and external practices/procedures
- Documentation: Prepare, review and process shipping documentation, e.g. BOL, packing lists and US Custom forms
- Receiving: Receive, catalog, and store chemical compounds (e.g. peptides and amino acids / monomers) received from other Client locations and suppliers in laboratory freezers.
- Inventory Support: Onsite material inventory management, including assist with compound counts and maintaining accurate, organized records
Manage Incoming Receiving Area:
- Receive delivered goods, process “Goods Receipt”, and distribute incoming material to labs and designated areas.
- Direct onsite visitors to appropriate people / locations
What are the top 3-5 skills, experience or education required for this position:
- Five (5) years of managing shipping logistics experience, preferably in a biotech environment (proteins, peptides, etc…) at a large multi-national corporation.
- Familiarity with IATA / DOT practices and procedures is a plus
- Five (5) years of inventory management experience, preferably in a biotech environment (proteins, peptides, etc…) at a large multi-national corporation.
- Effective communication and coordination skills are essential, as is attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task and execute job requirements with minimal direction is desired.
- Ability to routinely lift / push up to twenty-five (25) pounds (lbs).
Education:
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree / Masters would be over qualified.
