Job Description:
- We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer for a short-term contract position.
- The ideal candidate will be proficient in SolidWorks, capable of designing mechanical parts and assemblies, ordering parts, and assisting with assembly.
- This role requires a hands-on approach and the ability to quickly translate design concepts into functional components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks.
- Generate detailed engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications.
- Select and order appropriate materials and components.
- Collaborate with engineers and vendors to ensure design feasibility.
- Assist with prototype assembly and testing.
- Troubleshoot and revise designs based on testing and feedback.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modeling and 2D drafting.
- Experience in mechanical design, fabrication, and assembly.
- Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and tolerances.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Experience with ordering parts and working with suppliers.
- Hands-on mechanical assembly experience is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with SAP PLM system
Must-Have Skills:
- SolidWorks for mechanical design work
- Experience in making mechanical parts and assemblies
- GD&T experience
- Familiarity with machining techniques
- Attention to detail
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- AUTOCAD, SAP PLM, self-starter, good work ethic, internal R&D for structural parts, FEA (Finite Element Analysis), 10 years of experience.
Additional Requirements:
- Must have CCWSCSVCC and SolidWorks, Mechanical Engineering bachelor's degree, manufacturing experience.
Experience Required: Minimum 5 years, ideally 10 years.
