Position: Manufacturing Maintenance Technician IILocation: Bedford, MA - 01730Duration: 12 Months Job Type: Temporary Assignment Work Type: Onsite Shift: Day Shift Summary: The Manufacturing Maintenance Technician II serves as a journeyman-level technician responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving automated production equipment. This role provides electrical, mechanical, and controls support while ensuring equipment safety, reliability, and optimal production performance in a manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities:Ensure production equipment meets all safety regulations and industry standards.Identify and correct unsafe conditions involving electrical safety, guarding, interlocks, and emergency stops.Complete safety review checklists for new equipment and major process changes.Perform all tasks in compliance with site safety procedures (LOTO, hot work, confined space, etc.).Troubleshoot and repair automated production equipment to minimize downtime.Ensure spare parts are identified, stocked, and available for equipment support.Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and adjust PM requirements as needed.Train and mentor production associates on proper equipment operation and care.Assist in updating SOPs related to equipment use and processes.Identify and implement cost, quality, and reliability improvements.Support continuous improvement initiatives such as PPI and Lean activities.Ability to troubleshoot automated equipment, electronics, sensors, motors, servos, and pneumatics.Strong mechanical skills including disassembly, repair, and reassembly of complex equipment.Proficient use of hand and power tools.Working knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, lubrication, electrical systems, and industrial automation.Understanding of general construction, repair, and facility maintenance.Knowledgeable and proficient in Good Documentation Practices (GDP).Proficient with PC applications including Outlook, Word, and Excel.Ability to use CMMS and inventory management software.Ability to communicate clearly with Work Centres, teams, and contractors professionally.Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interpersonal interactions.Ability to work in diverse environments including office, laboratory, hazardous chemical production areas, clean rooms, general production floors, warehouses, outdoors, rooftops, mechanical spaces, and interstitial spaces.Must be able to climb ladders, work at elevated heights, regularly lift up to 50 lbs, and move 55-gallon drums using wheeled dollies.Must be able to work on-call when required.Required Skills High School Diploma required; Associate’s or Vocational Degree in a mechanical or electrical discipline preferred.Associate’s degree or vocational training in mechanical or electrical fields.Technical certifications in automation, controls, or industrial maintenance is a plus.1–4 years of mechanical and/or electrical technical experience, or a combination of relevant education and experience.Experience supporting Lean Manufacturing or PPI initiatives.Experience writing or improving SOPs and technical documentation.Advanced troubleshooting of servos, PLCs, and automated systems.Experience working with automated production equipment in a manufacturing environment.TekWissen® Group is an equal opportunity employer supporting workforce diversity.
