Position OverviewThe Project Estimator is a key contributor to Tekton's mission of delivering exceptional projects on time and within budget. You will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates, analyzing project plans, coordinating with subcontractors, and supporting leadership in strategic project decisions. Your work ensures projects are financially viable, well-planned, and aligned with our core values.

Key Responsibilities1. Preconstruction & Estimating- Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents for residential, multifamily, and commercial projects.
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for all project scopes.
- Prepare cost estimates that include labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor pricing.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and value engineering while maintaining quality.
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure estimates align with project goals and client expectations.
- Prepare complete bid packages, including scopes of work and bid instructions for subcontractors.
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure accuracy, competitiveness, and alignment with Tekton's standards.
- Assemble and submit final bid proposals with detailed breakdowns and clarifications.
- Provide clear documentation and estimate breakdowns to project managers post-award.
- Assist with budget setup, cost tracking, and change order analysis.
- Serve as a resource for estimating-related questions throughout project execution.
- Build strong, trustworthy relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Maintain a network of reliable trade partners to ensure consistent coverage for projects.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with clients and team members.
- Stay informed on local labor, material, and market trends.
- Continuously improve estimating processes, tools, and accuracy.
- Maintain and update Tekton's cost databases and estimating systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
- 310 years of construction estimating experience, ideally with a general contractor.
- Experience estimating residential, multifamily, and commercial projects preferred.
- Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., ProEst, PlanSwift, Bluebeam).
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building systems.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and project management software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication and negotiation abilities.

- Primarily office-based with occasional site visits.
