Network/Systems Engineer III

Our client is seeking a Network/Systems Engineer to join our dynamic IT operations team. What You’ll Do

As a Systems Administrator III, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and optimizing CoBank’s network and systems infrastructure. You’ll work across teams to ensure secure, reliable, and high-performing systems, with a focus on Cisco networking, firewall management, and disaster recovery.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure, maintain, and upgrade Cisco IOS-based infrastructure (Catalyst/Nexus switches).
• Administer Palo Alto firewalls and Cisco ASA VPN solutions.
• Monitor network performance and respond to alerts to ensure uptime and data integrity.
• Perform system backups and recovery using tools like Zerto.
• Apply patches and deploy software upgrades to maintain security and performance.
• Troubleshoot network and system issues, escalating when needed to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with security and infrastructure teams to enforce compliance and best practices.
• Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, procedures, and standards.
• Follow change management processes and handle ticketing workflows.
  
  
  

What You Bring

Required Skills & Experience:

• 5 years of experience in network and systems administration.
• Strong hands-on experience with Cisco IOS (Catalyst/Nexus).
• Deep understanding of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF).
• Experience with Palo Alto firewalls and Cisco ASA VPNs.
• Familiarity with backup/recovery tools (e.g., Zerto) and patch management.
• Knowledge of monitoring tools and change management processes.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

This is a Contract position based out of Greenwood Village, CO.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $51.00 - $74.00/hr.
