We need an experienced Network Engineer to provide advanced architecture, design, and implementation support for critical network projects. This is a short-term engagement to fill a gap while the organization transitions to hiring a permanent network engineer. The contractor will partner with the Infrastructure Manager and internal team to deliver high-priority upgrades and migrations.

Key Responsibilities
Disaster Recovery (DR) Network Redesign
* Replace Nexus 5K with two Nexus 9Ks and add a Cisco 9200 expansion switch.
* Deploy two Cisco MDS switches for SAN build-out.
* Replace existing ASR routers with Cisco 8500 series.
* Determine whether to stay with OTV or migrate to VXLAN.
* Design, document, implement, and cut over the new architecture.
Routing Optimization
* Clean up and streamline routing policies.
* Implement dynamic routing (BGP) for failover and SD-WAN integration.
Documentation
* Deliver detailed network design diagrams, configuration guides, and cutover plans.

Required Skills
* Advanced expertise in Cisco networking (Nexus 9K, 9200, ASR/8500, VXLAN, OTV).
* Hands-on experience with Check Point firewalls and Cisco ASA.
* Strong knowledge of routing protocols (BGP required).
* Familiarity with SD-WAN technologies (Silver Peak preferred).
* Ability to produce high-quality design documentation.
* Ideally 7-10 years of experience in network engineering.

* LAN/Wireless experience (Cisco).
* Familiarity with multi-site network environments.
* Experience with VPN technologies and firewall rule management.
