- Basic understanding of telecommunications products and services, including fiber optic and/or copper facilities
- Familiarity with cable installation tools and equipment such as:
- Fiber optic splicers
- Cleavers
- Strippers
- Trenching equipment
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to pass drug screening
- Install and configure internet, television, and telephone cable systems
- Place aerial and underground cable to customer locations
- Install pedestals, handholes, vaults, and related infrastructure
- Label and mark telecommunications facilities for identification and tracking
- Assist with fiber optic splicing, repairs, and maintenance
- Perform general construction labor, including trenching, plowing, and boring operations
- Test and troubleshoot signals to ensure quality service delivery
- Restore work sites and landscaping following project completion
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work vehicles
- Complete required documentation and work records
- Follow all safety standards, industry regulations, and company procedures
- Provide excellent customer service and educate customers on installed services and equipment
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and around construction equipment
- Ability to lift 50-80 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
