Insurance Follow‑Up Representative (Hybrid)

Shift: 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Employment Type: Full-Time

Schedule: Monday – Friday

Pay Rate : $25-27/HR

Hybrid Schedule (After training): Onsite Mondays & Wednesdays

Contract Length: 26 weeks, with strong potential for extension or permanent hire

based on performance

Position Summary

A leading academic health system is seeking an experienced Insurance Follow‑Up Representative to support its hospital billing operations. This role focuses on resolving medical claims denials, conducting detailed follow-up with insurance payors, and ensuring timely and accurate reimbursement. The ideal candidate brings deep knowledge of hospital billing workflows, strong analytical skills, and hands-on experience with Epic.

Key Responsibilities

• Investigate denied or rejected claims to determine root causes and take corrective action
• Conduct timely follow‑up on submitted claims that remain unprocessed
• Prepare and submit reconsiderations and appeals within filing limits
• Perform detailed data analysis and research to support billing operations
• Utilize payor portals and related tools to track claim status and resolve issues
• Apply strong knowledge of hospital claims adjudication, denial codes, and reimbursement policies
• Identify and resolve payor underpayments and overpayments
• Ensure accurate handling of claims in accordance with payor guidelines
• Collaborate with internal teams to support efficient revenue cycle operations
  
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of Hospital Billing (HB) claims follow‑up and denials resolution experience
• Experience with Commercial, Managed Medicare, and Government payors
• Epic experience — minimum 2 years required
• Strong in medical claims denials and insurance follow‑up
• Experience with Psychiatric or Psychiatry billing
• Working knowledge of medical terminology, revenue codes, CPT/HCPCS codes
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr.
