Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Plan, design, test, implement, troubleshoot enterprise server and storage systems
- Design, deploy, and maintain company server hosts, storage systems, virtual machines, and related hardware
- Actively work to maintain and develop expertise on relevant technology products, services, protocols, and standards to remain abreast of developments in the Datacenter compute, Storage and Cloud compute industries
- Implement and maintain security solutions, including firewall, anti-virus, and remedy processes
- Produce written documentation for proposals which describe solutions to business problems, including the equipment recommended, cost of the equipment, and time required to successfully (and fully) implement the solution
- Aid in development of business continuity and disaster recovery plans as well as perform DR configuration changes
- Manage servers and their associated operating systems/software
- Perform domain security audits
- Interact with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure server products and services
- Provide training and relevant document for support personnel (which includes Help Desk, computer technicians, and trainers), internal/external customers, and management
- Define and monitor server storage space allotments
- No supervisory responsibilities
- Requires one of the following:
- Bachelors degree with an emphasis in computer science, information systems, or related field of study and three (3) years of related IT work experience within the last seven (7) years, OR
- High school diploma or equivalent and six (6) years of related IT work experience within the last seven (7) years
- Three (3) years of experience within the last five years managing a multi-server environment
- One (1) year of experience with VMWare administration and management
- Experience configuring server operating systems
- Excellent verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively and persuasively with individuals, groups, or work teams to explain difficult technical issues and the ability to listen effectively
- Ability to maintain composure and adapt in a dynamic, fast-paced, customer-focused work environment characterized by rapid change, minimal lead times, and multiple competing priorities
- Up to 15% domestic and international travel
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid drivers license and passport
- Requires a favorable motor vehicle report upon hire
