Our client located in Greenville, NC provides trauma, rehabilitation, and outpatient health services to more than 1.4 million people in 70 locations across 29 counties. In an average year, about 80,000 inpatient, 460,000 outpatient and 3,000 newborn visits are treated at our client. They are an academic healthcare system with over 1,700 beds. The clinical staff includes more than 500 physicians and 1,200 nurses.
The Director of Network Engineering and Operations is an expert technical leader responsible for the strategic planning, design, implementation, and operation of the organization's network systems. This pivotal role ensures the reliability, security, and efficiency of the network infrastructure, aligning it with our client's goals and objectives. The Director develops and executes network strategies that support the organization's mission and objectives, oversees the allocation and management of resources to ensure optimal network performance, and ensures the network's reliability and security through proactive measures and continuous monitoring.
Additionally, the Director works closely with other departments to integrate network infrastructure with organizational goals, leads project planning and execution, including design, vendor evaluation and management, and implementation across multiple systems and provides technical guidance and supervision in the development, implementation, and support of network systems and security.
The ideal candidate for this role will have proven experience in managing and leading technical teams, in depth knowledge of network equipment, protocols, tools, and related infrastructure and security, and strong project management capabilities to oversee complex network projects. They should also possess the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve common goals and the ability to make informed recommendations in areas requiring advanced technical knowledge.
This Director will manage a team of 10 on the networking side and an additional 14 on the telecommunications side.
Top priorities for this Director will include ACI, Call Center Management NAC, SD-WAN, MDM, a NOC, and network/telecom hardware refreshes. They will work cross functionally with the cyber security teams, as well as, the client technologies teams that support cloud technologies.

The Director needs to have the technical knowledge to help lead projects and communicate effectively between other teams.
This person will be responsible for presenting information to C-level executives and board members.
Experience In Telecommunication Or Cloud Technologies Is Preferred.
Preference will be given to candidates who have supported healthcare, life sciences, or financial organizations due to understanding of HIPAA/SOX

Onsite 2 days per week to start, then will work 100% remote, excluding the requirement to be onsite for large go-lives, budget reviews, quarterly meetings, training, team gatherings, leadership meetings, critical outages, etc.
