*Overview* We are seeking a Database Engineer to join our team on a contract basis. This individual will primarily manage the ticket queue in ServiceNow related to automated SQL Server builds and troubleshoot any issues that arise. The role requires strong technical expertise in SQL Server administration, performance tuning, and high availability solutions.
*Key Responsibilities*
* Manage and resolve tickets in ServiceNow related to SQL Server builds and automation.
* Perform performance tuning and optimization for SQL Server environments.
* Implement and maintain High Availability (HA) solutions, including Always On, mirroring, and Distributed Availability Groups.
* Execute backup and recovery procedures, including Disaster Recovery (DR) planning and execution.
* Support SQL Server environments across versions 2008 through 2019.
* Collaborate with application development teams to ensure smooth automated server build processes.
*Required Skills*
* Performance Tuning: Minimum 3 years of experience;
* High Availability: Strong knowledge of Always On, mirroring, and Distributed Availability Groups.
* Backup & Recovery: Solid experience with DR procedures.
* SQL Server Versions: Hands-on experience with SQL Server 2008-2019.
*Nice-to-Have Skills*
* SQL scripting and query optimization.
* Database administration best practices.
* Experience with Azure environments.
*Work Environment*
* Onsite in Buffalo, NY *3 days per week*.
* Collaborative team environment with opportunities for growth and learning.

The pay range for this position is $40.92 - $68.19/hr.
