Data Center Technician

Location: Cheyenne, Wyoming

Shifts Available: Day shift and night shift, split week

Overview

TEKsystems is seeking Data Center Technicians (DCTs) to join a professional services team supporting a large hyperscale data center environment in Cheyenne, WY. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a world-class infrastructure team, gain hands-on experience, and grow your career

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, stage, set up, and perform startup/shutdown activities for IT equipment (racks, servers, hard drives, switches)
• Execute rack and stack, cabling, labeling, and grounding tasks following established procedures
• Perform quality checks to ensure compliance with safety, deployment standards, and network design tasks (NDTs)
• Troubleshoot hardware and network issues; diagnose and replace faulty components
• Decommission hardware and support refresh activities (e.g., memory upgrades, OS rebuilds)
• Communicate, report, and escalate incidents to Data Center Technician Leads as needed
• Follow security, safety protocols, and on-site operating procedures

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• 1 year of data center experience, including rack & stack, cabling, and/or decommissioning
• Experience supporting IT network equipment and low voltage cabling installation
• Basic knowledge of computer hardware, servers, and components
• Proficiency with office productivity tools (Outlook, Excel, Word)
• Ability to work non-standard hours (including nights, weekends, and holidays)
• Low Voltage License (Wyoming) OR ability to obtain quickly
• Candidates with relevant IT education, certifications, or equivalent hands-on experience will also be considered

This is a Contract position based out of Cheyenne, WY.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $45.00/hr.
