Key Responsibilities
- Install work area outlets (floor monuments, surface-mount boxes, wall outlets)
- Pull, route, and support cabling using industry methods (J-hooks, cable tray, D-rings, etc.)
- Prepare and dress cables; determine slack and label correctly
- Build and assist with IDF/MDF closets (racks, patch panels, backboards, hardware)
- Terminate low-voltage copper and basic fiber connections
- Perform fire-stopping and core penetration work
- Follow all safety, quality, and installation standards
- Complete required paperwork accurately and on time
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Basic hand tools including:
- Screwdrivers, pliers, snips, cable stripper
- Tape measure, level, flashlight
- Hammer, wrench set, gloves
- Basic understanding of low-voltage or structured cabling
- Familiarity with Cat5e/Cat6 cabling and color codes
- Ability to perform punch-downs and basic terminations
- Willingness to learn fiber, testing, and closet builds
- Strong attention to detail and teamwork
