Additional Skills & Qualifications
Qualifications and Educational Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate's degree or trade certification in telecommunications or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in aerial construction and fiber optic cable installation.
- A valid driver’s license is required; a CDL Class A or B is strongly preferred.
- Ability to pass pre-employment checks, drug screenings, motor vehicle checks, and DOT physical exams.
- Bucket truck and aerial lift operation certification.
- Pole climbing certification.
- OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety.
- First Aid/CPR.
- Proficient in aerial fiber optic installation techniques, pole framing, cable lashing, strand placement, and anchoring.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, utility maps, and fiber installation plans.
- Strong understanding of NESC and TIA industry standards.
- Proficient in utilizing digital tools for documentation and communication, including smartphones, tablets, and laptops.
- Capable of performing physically demanding tasks outdoors, working at elevated heights, and in varied weather conditions.
- Safely lift and handle materials and equipment weighing up to 75 lbs.
- Comfortable with heights, climbing poles, and operating aerial equipment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Team-oriented, reliable, organized, and consistently professional.
