Description
Client is seeking a contractor to support a large-scale infrastructure migration from a legacy IBM mainframe environment to a Linux-based AWS cloud environment using Rocket Software's Enterprise Server platform (formerly Micro Focus).
This role is primarily focused on administration rather than development, supporting the infrastructure that enables legacy COBOL-based applications to run in a modern Linux ecosystem. Responsibilities include managing system patches, upgrades, deployments, and ensuring stability of the environment post-migration.
The individual will join mid-project (migration currently ~1.5 years in progress with ~4 months remaining) and play a key role in both project execution and transition to steady-state operations. The position will also involve knowledge transfer from a retiring resource and participation in upcoming technical training sessions.
