Junior Network Technician

Job Description:

TEKsystems Inc. is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Network Technician to support our telecommunications infrastructure in the Greater Nashville Area.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the installation, termination, and testing of structured cabling systems (Cat5e, Cat6, fiber optics).
• Support the deployment and maintenance of VoIP systems, PBX hardware, and network devices.
• Perform basic troubleshooting of network and telecommunications connectivity issues.
• Help configure and label telecom closets, patch panels, and cross-connects.
• Conduct site surveys and assist with infrastructure upgrades and expansions.
• Maintain accurate documentation of cable runs, network diagrams, and equipment inventory.
• Collaborate with senior technicians and project managers to ensure timely and quality installations.
• Follow safety protocols and adhere to industry standards such as BICSI and EIA/TIA.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network , BICSI Installer) are a plus.
• Entry-level experience or training in networking, telecommunications, or low-voltage systems.
• Familiarity with network and telecom equipment such as routers, switches, patch panels, and test tools.
• Understanding of VoIP, PBX, and basic IP networking concepts.
• Strong attention to detail and eagerness to learn.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to lift and carry equipment, work on ladders, and use hand tools.
• Flexibility to work in various environments including commercial and industrial settings.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Gallatin, TN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00/hr.
