Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to lead technology integration efforts during a merger and acquisition. This role requires a blend of strategic architecture expertise and hands-on discovery skills to work with business stakeholders who may not have technical backgrounds. The Enterprise Architect will define the future-state architecture, guide system consolidation, and establish a trusted knowledge base for all technology teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Architecture Definition: Map current vs. target systems, design interim and future-state architectures, and validate sequencing for ERP, data, and infrastructure cutovers.
- Integration Strategy: Define integration paths that minimize disruption, ensure business continuity, and align with organizational goals.
- System Rationalization: Identify duplicate or overlapping systems and establish clear plans for consolidation or retirement.
- Knowledge Repository: Create and maintain authoritative documentation (“source knowledge”) for technology teams to reference throughout the integration.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with non-technical business leaders and staff to gather requirements, clarify processes, and translate findings into actionable architecture deliverables.
- Governance & Standards: Establish architectural principles, integration standards, and guardrails to ensure consistency across teams.
- Risk Management: Anticipate challenges in cutovers and integrations, propose mitigation strategies, and ensure compliance with enterprise policies.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Enterprise Architect in M&A or large-scale transformation programs.
- Strong background in ERP systems, data architecture, and infrastructure integration.
- Ability to create architectural documentation and diagrams where none currently exist.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills to work with non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in system rationalization and consolidation.
- Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman, etc.) is a plus.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to balance interim solutions against long-term architecture goals.
