About the Opportunity:
A leading food manufacturing company is seeking a skilled Ammonia Refrigeration Technician to join its 3rd shift maintenance team. This role is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the plant’s ammonia refrigeration systems and related utilities. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with industrial refrigeration systems and a strong focus on safety and reliability.
Shift:
- 3rd Shift: 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM
Key Responsibilities:
Operate, monitor, and maintain ammonia refrigeration systems, compressors, condensers, evaporators, and related equipment.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on all refrigeration and utility systems.
Monitor system performance and make adjustments to optimize efficiency and safety.
Maintain accurate logs, documentation, and compliance with PSM (Process Safety Management) and EPA regulations.
Troubleshoot issues related to refrigeration, air compressors, boilers, and other plant utilities.
Respond promptly to system alarms and production support requests.
Follow all safety, GMP, and environmental procedures and participate in system inspections and audits.
Qualifications:
3 years of experience working with industrial ammonia refrigeration systems (food manufacturing experience preferred).
Strong understanding of PSM, EPA, and OSHA regulatory requirements.
Experience operating and maintaining engine room and utility systems (e.g., compressors, condensers, air handling, HVAC).
Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, and refrigeration diagrams.
RETAs certification or Operator I/II level certification preferred.
Must be able to work safely in a fast-paced, refrigerated production environment.
Willingness to work overtime or weekends as needed.
