Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Electro-Mechanical Technician to join our night
shift
maintenance team. This position is critical to maintaining production uptime by troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing both electrical and mechanical systems within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of industrial automation, machinery maintenance, and safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, electrical, and control systems on production and facility equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and equipment manuals to diagnose faults accurately.
- Maintain and service a wide range of equipment including motors, pumps, gearboxes, PLCs, chillers, and compressors.
- Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.
- Use diagnostic tools such as multimeters, PLC software, and other testing equipment to assess system performance.
- Document all maintenance work performed using the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Support production teams by responding promptly to maintenance-related issues during night
operations.
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with plant safety standards and regulations, including Lockout/Tagout procedures.
- Assist with inventory control and maintain proper organization of tools and spare parts.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and reliability-focused maintenance practices.
Qualifications
- 3 years of experience as an electro-mechanical or industrial maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of both electrical and mechanical systems, including troubleshooting AC/DC motors, sensors, relays, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- Experience with PLCs (Allen-Bradley preferred), motor controls, and industrial automation systems.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Familiarity with flexible packaging equipment (extrusion, lamination, flexographic printing, slitting) is highly desirable.
- Comfortable working independently on night
shift
and responding to emergency breakdowns.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in physically demanding conditions (climbing, bending, standing for long periods).
- Forklift certification or willingness to become certified.
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance, electrical technology, or related field preferred.
