As our Industrial Compounding Blender Specialist, you’ll own the process from staging to packaging—balancing accuracy, timing, and collaboration to keep production moving safely and efficiently.
A Day in the Life
You start by reviewing the production schedule and batch cards, cross-checking TA item code numbers, lot numbers, and raw material weights. With the blender cleaned, inspected, and prepped, you stage the next compound charge and execute all hand-adds exactly as specified. If procedures vary, you alert supervision immediately and document the change on the batch card. Throughout the shift, you coordinate with adjacent operations, perform swift, clean changeovers on packaging equipment, and communicate status with mill area operators. Every package you produce is labeled, aligned, weighed, sealed, and scanned into our system—ready to ship to customers right the first time.

What You’ll Do
- Master Line 4 Blending and flex to other roles as needed to support the team.
- Verify TA item code numbers, lot numbers, and raw material weights before charging the blender.
- Clean and inspect the blender to ensure readiness for the next compound charge.
- Stage raw materials and complete all compound charges per batch card instructions.
- Execute hand-adds precisely as listed on the blender batch card.
- Report any deviation from procedure to supervision and record it on the batch card.
- Coordinate blender output with other operating areas to meet schedule demands.
- Follow customer packaging instructions; ensure all product is properly packed, labeled, weighed, and sealed; escalate any issues to the Bagger Leadman.
- Generate labels and align/affix them to containers accurately.
- Perform timely, efficient, and clean packaging equipment changeovers using required safety gear; update mill area operators after completion.
- Prepare packaging materials (e.g., Gaylords, Supersacks) to cover upcoming shift requirements.
- Scan/enter finished goods into the computer system.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping and wear required PPE at all times.
- Meet or exceed plant KPIs and actively support Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
- Ability to read and comprehend English with solid math skills.
- Experience operating—or willingness to learn—forklifts and electric hand trucks.
