The Technical Research Co-op will support research focused on sustainable polymer technologies. This role provides an opportunity to participate in laboratory research evaluating the stabilization and colorability of polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB) resins while working alongside experienced scientists and engineers.
Co-op students will gain hands-on laboratory experience while contributing to research that supports future product development.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Conduct laboratory experiments related to PHB stabilization and colorability
- Prepare formulations and process polymer samples
- Collect, analyze, and document experimental data
- Assist with testing material performance and properties
- Present research findings and recommendations to the technical team
- Maintain laboratory equipment and follow all safety procedures
- Support ongoing R&D projects as needed
- Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Chemistry, Materials Science, Plastics Engineering, or a related field
- Strong laboratory and analytical skills
- Detail-oriented with excellent documentation habits
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Interest in sustainable materials and polymer development
- Preferred Qualifications
- Coursework in polymers, chemistry, or materials science
- Previous laboratory or research experience
- Familiarity with laboratory testing methods and instrumentation
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 lbs
