Shift Supervisor

SAFETY  

• Continuously ensure safety and good manufacturing practices. 
• Reports any unsafe or potentially unsafe conditions to Safety Manager. 
• Reports any reportable incident or accident to the Safety Manager and the Manufacturing Manager.  

PRODUCTION  

• Fills out supervisor check sheet daily and signs it with next shift supervisor. 
• Responsible for signing any production related forms and paperwork as necessary, including Production Sheets, Line Clearance, Inspection Sheets, Daily Cleaning Forms. 
• Check the required production folder per machine daily, including the work order, product specifications, packaging specifications and labels.
•  Keep track of scrap generation and reduce as possible via continuous improvement methods
• If machine is down for over ½ hr., coordinates the cleaning of the machine using the machine cleaning check sheets  
• Ensures break time schedule is followed, warnings would be given to persistent violators. Ensure that work areas are always clean and organized.    
• The production supervisor is responsible for leading the daily execution of production plan, ensuring safety, quality, productivity, and staffing.  
• Ensures tracking of supervisory responsibilities for direct reports are maintained in WFM, ensures attendance/ corrective action policies are applied consistently across all employees. 
• Support the projects undertaken by the organization, where he/she can add value. 
• Participate in the department and management meetings 
• Attend necessary training coordinated by HR where participation is needed 
• Participate in improvement projects as needed 
• Report any work-related incident 
•  Request IT support when issues arise.   

• Ensures his/her teams required training is completed

QUALITY

• Ensure employees are following all quality standards of the product. 
• Verify the DMT is signed & approved if material is truly bad 
• Ensure all production documentation is completed accurately, including production sheets, inspection sheets, cleaning forms, downtime tracking, labor allocation, and quality records in SPC. 

 MAINTENANCE, MOLDS & MOTAN 

• Request general, molds & Motan maintenance services when needed to the Maintenance Supervisor and/or the Shift Engineer.  

HUMAN RESOURCES

• Ensure all policies are followed and request any clarifications from an HR representative. 
• Document any violations of company policy and communicate it to department manager. 
• Follow the corrective action procedure with employees as necessary to improve performance 
• Follow the established procedure when identifying or having reasonable suspicion that an employee is under the influence a foreign substance. 

PLANNING AND R & D

• Works with Planning, and ensures PMP is followed, unless instructed otherwise by Manufacturing Management. 
• Ensures R&D requirements are followed and implemented with new products, packaging specs and materials 
• Ensure Trials have continuity throughout shifts until completed

LOGISTICS

• Ensure material handlers wrap, scan and move skids, supplying materials and rolls in a timely manner.  
• Must physically check the line clearance of all machines prior to starting the next product while following procedures for returns as necessary 

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Strong leadership and communication Skills 

• Ability to read and understand production schedules, work orders, and production specifications  

• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, ERP system (BAAN), UKG and production reporting tools 

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
