What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at TekniPlex?
1. Follow established safety protocols, including lock-out/tag-out procedures, to ensure a safe working environment. 2. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout the shift. 3. Ensure proper functionality of all machine mechanisms to meet production goals. 4. Collaborate with operators to gather detailed information about machine problems, damages, and faults to identify accurate solutions. 5. Accurately document all maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, replacements, and adjustments, in accordance with company procedures. 6. Interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and hydraulic and pneumatic schematics to diagnose, repair, and install equipment and facility systems. 7. Perform preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance by prioritizing tasks according to operational requirements and instructions from supervisors or the maintenance manager. 8. Proactively inspect equipment to diagnose current issues and identify potential additional failures before they occur. 9. Disassembles, repairs/replaces parts and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment, such as motors, pumps, conveyors, belts, fans, and related components. 10. Clean, lubricates & adjusts functional parts of mechanical devices as required to ensure optimal performance. 11. Use precision measuring tools, hand tools, and testing instruments effectively to perform diagnostic and repair tasks. 12. Ensures electrical work conforms with requirements of local building and safety codes. 13. Inspect and test electrical equipment, including lighting, signal, communication, and power circuits, to ensure functionality and compliance. 14. Identify defects in wiring, switches, motors, and other electrical equipment using diagnostic tools such as ammeters, ohmmeters, voltmeters, or other testing instruments. 15. Perform major electrical repairs, including 24VDC controls systems and 3-phase power systems up to 480V, PLC troubleshooting, and the installation and testing of electrical circuits, components, and equipment. 16. Replace faulty switches, sockets, wiring, coils, and other components of electrical systems. 17. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including pumps, compressors, valves, cylinders, actuators, hoses, and fitting 18. Disassemble, repair, reassemble, and test hydraulic and pneumatic components to ensure proper operation before returning them to service. 19. Identify and resolve leaks and other faults in hydraulic and pneumatic circuits. 20. Perform carpentry, plumbing, and painting tasks as needed to support plant operations. 21. Perform other related duties that contribute to the success of the operation as assigned by supervisor.
