EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
3 years of related training and/or experience. Demonstrated leadership abilities. Successful completion of all previous level Extrusion Skills Assessments.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to print simple sentences and legibly complete reports and time cards. Ability to understand and follow verbal instructions. Read, analyze and interpret technical procedures and manufacturing terminology. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and the general public.
Mathematical Skills
The employee has the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Also, has the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

- Trains department personnel in the set-up and operation of extrusion equipment and support equipment.
- Ensures material being produced meets specifications.
- Ensures proper recording of reports, data, and testing procedures.
- Communicates/coordinates shift activity with other shifts and departments.
- Makes suggestions to improve process or procedures within department.
- Diagnoses operational/quality problems and directs correctional activities.
- Performs all machine operation functions within department.
- Follows and participates in plant safe housekeeping guidelines designed to ensure a safe work environment.
- Remains compliant with SQF / HACCP requirements as per this location’s written “Food Safety & Quality Policy”
- Complete cycle counts for scrap/prime rolls stock and Raw Materials, when necessary.
- Monitor all fluff silos and report out to production with issues, lock out all silos ports when full.
