Job Description:
The Client is seeking a senior Mechanical/Project Engineer with 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical, API, life sciences, or other highly regulated environments. This individual will support facility and infrastructure projects, providing technical oversight from design through construction and into commissioning/qualification/validation. Responsibilities will include reviewing, redlining, and approving design packages related to excavation, purified water systems, MEP, clean compressed air, HVAC, boilers, chillers, bulk storage vessels, and other facility systems, including P&IDs, specifications, equipment data sheets, cut sheets, and engineering calculations. The role will also coordinate with internal engineering teams, consultants, vendors, and contractors to resolve technical and construction issues and keep projects aligned with scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety requirements.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of pharmaceutical facility design and construction, OSHA requirements, and cGMP expectations, with a proven track record of leading projects through the full project lifecycle.
Experience with Siemens-based Building Automation Systems (BAS) and familiarity with wastewater design and construction are highly desirable.
Knowledge of Oregon and City of Bend building codes and permitting processes is a plus.
Strong communication, project management, problem-solving, and contractor coordination skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently and provide technical direction in a complex, regulated construction environment.
The role requires the ability to evaluate external engineering and construction deliverables, lead constructability reviews, manage project risks, and ensure successful achievement of construction milestones.
