Position: Reliability EngineerLocation: NYDuration: 6 monthsHours per week: 40 Job Description:Our client is seeking an experienced engineer to drive equipment reliability, support maintenance strategies, and strengthen performance across fast-paced production lines. This role focuses on understanding equipment behavior, reducing downtime, and optimizing preventive maintenance while working closely with mechanical, electrical, and operations teams. The engineer will also support key reliability programs such as failure analysis, risk assessments, and condition-based monitoring. A strong focus on safety, quality, and disciplined documentation is essential, as the role contributes directly to compliance expectations and site standards. Success in this position requires technical depth, strong communication skills, and the ability to influence continuous improvement in a dynamic environment. Day-to-Day ResponsibilitiesLead structured root-cause analysis for equipment issues and drive actions that eliminate recurrence.Improve preventive maintenance routines, monitor reliability indicators such as MTBF/MTTR, and refine tasks based on equipment criticality.Use the site’s CMMS (SAP PM) to track work, analyze trends, and provide reports to support reliability planning and scheduling.Guide production and maintenance teams on equipment care, condition monitoring practices, and reliability tools.Support packaging and filling line performance by partnering with technicians to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems.Manage critical spare-parts needs and contribute to process, layout, and equipment improvements that enhance overall line efficiency.Must-Have SkillsEngineering degree, 5 years of relevant experience, strong troubleshooting and RCA capability, preventive-maintenance and reliability knowledge, hands-on mechanical/electrical understanding, and proficiency with CMMS systems—specifically SAP PM—along with strong communication and adherence to safety/quality standards. Bonus / Nice to HaveExperience with packaging equipment, spare-parts programs, condition monitoring tools, or reliability certifications. Education:Engineering degree required
