REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS

o Ability to formulate a concept by documenting in systematic terms the needs/request of the business.
o Ability to effectively communicate technical information (both verbal and written) to a non-technical audience.
o Ability to effectively communicate business information (both verbal and written) to a technical audience.
o Ability to successfully negotiate with all customers to obtain the most favorable outcome for all.
o Ability to use tact in dealing with others by using communication skills that will not offend the audience.
• Planning: A Business analyst must be able to see the big picture and plan accordingly.
o Analyze businesses existing processes/systems.
o Identify options for potential solutions and assessing them for both technical and business suitability.
o Present proposals to business.
o Create logical and innovative solutions to existing problems.
o Work flexibly to meet a deadline.
o Evaluate all project and stakeholder characteristics before deciding on appropriate deliverables and producing a time estimate.
o Understand that requirements can change or be “discovered”. Plan for it and effectively manage it by tracking it and modifying timelines and deliverables accordingly
