Overview
The Center Leader is the proximal leader responsible for driving the Center’s workforce plan, recruiter development, building local leadership pipeline, and office culture in alignment with TEKsystems' core values and company priorities. This role requires exceptional partnership skills to collaborate effectively with Talent Delivery Leaders, Sales Leaders, and other cross-functional leaders in a matrixed environment. The Center Leader owns outcomes for recruiter attraction, onboarding, integration, and upskilling, while also identifying high-potential talent and developing the next generation of office leaders through targeted upskilling workshops and leadership readiness programs. Success in this role depends on the ability to influence without direct authority, navigate organizational complexity, maintain high performance standards, and bring daily energy and motivation to the office. The ideal candidate thrives in environments where results are achieved through strong relationships, strategic collaboration, and the ability to drive accountability within clearly defined boundaries.
Responsibilities
Workforce Planning & Talent Attraction
- Build headcount plans for the center in partnership with Talent Delivery Leaders to ensure recruiter capacity meets organizational demand
- Anticipate future recruiting needs and create actionable workforce plans with talent delivery partners
- Develop and execute innovative recruiter attraction strategies to secure top talent in the market
- Partner with Talent Delivery Leaders in the interview and selection process for all new hires in the physical office location, with final sign-off authority to ensure candidates align with office culture and performance standards
- Use workforce data and insights to inform planning decisions and identify capacity gaps
Recruiter Development & Performance
- Own recruiter onboarding, integration, and upskilling outcomes to accelerate time-to-productivity for new hires
- Design and deliver upskilling sessions for recruiters within the professional development framework, leveraging onsite leaders and professional development team support
- Identify performance issues and drive corrective action in partnership with Talent Delivery Leaders
- Maintain company and office performance standards, holding recruiters accountable to consistent expectations
- Monitor recruiter performance metrics (scorecard performance, spread, fill ratios, consultant experience, recruiter-generated leads) to identify development needs and adjust upskilling strategies in partnership with Talent Delivery Leaders
Leadership Pipeline Development
- Identify high-potential talent within the center and create individualized development plans
- Design and facilitate leadership readiness workshops to prepare emerging leaders for future roles
- Partner with professional development team to deliver leadership upskilling programs
- Participate in promotion assessments and interviews alongside Talent Delivery Leaders
- Build a sustainable pipeline of leadership talent to meet future organizational needs
Cross-Functional Partnership & Alignment
- Partner with Talent Delivery Leaders and Sales Leaders to align on office priorities, resource needs, and performance expectations
- Navigate and resolve conflicts that arise in the matrixed leadership environment
- Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to ensure decisions support both talent delivery effectiveness and market alignment
- Execute on company priorities and strategic direction within the center
Culture & Retention
- Drive employee retention strategies to reduce attrition and maintain high engagement
- Build a culture of trust and accountability rooted in TEKsystems' core values
- Bring consistent energy and motivation to the office as the proximal leader
- Create an environment where recruiters and leaders feel supported, challenged, and connected to organizational success
Qualifications
The ideal candidate has proven leadership experience running medium to large teams in a matrixed environment, with a track record of achieving results through influence and partnership. Experience as a DBO, Sales Manager, or Talent Delivery Leader is strongly preferred, as these roles require similar skills in navigating organizational complexity and driving outcomes through cross-functional collaboration.
Candidates must demonstrate success in building and developing high-performing teams, with specific experience in hiring, onboarding, and upskilling talent to accelerate performance. The ability to identify high-potential individuals and create leadership development pathways is essential.
Strong candidates will show evidence of thriving in environments where they must balance competing priorities, navigate conflict constructively, and maintain high standards while building trust and engagement. Experience working proximally with teams—being present, visible, and accessible on a daily basis—is critical.
