Senior Estimator – Data Center / Low Voltage Integration
Location: Columbia, MD (with travel to Northern Virginia)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Base Salary
- Low end: $90K
- Top end (strong DC / hyperscale experience): $125K – $140K
Total Compensation
- With bonus / incentives: $140K – $180K
- Top performers in high-volume environments can push $180K–$200K
Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Estimator to support data center and low voltage integration projects. This role is responsible for developing accurate cost estimates, bills of materials, and statements of work for large-scale infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate has strong experience in data center environments and can act as a technical advisor to both internal teams and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct site surveys and field walks to assess project requirements
- Develop detailed Bills of Materials (BOMs) and labor estimates
- Create comprehensive Statements of Work (SOW) for RFPs
- Review project documentation and generate RFIs as needed
- Analyze client needs and design functional technical solutions
- Support sales teams with technical expertise and project scoping
- Attend pre-bid meetings and scope reviews
- Lead project kickoff meetings and transition work to operations
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience in data center, structured cabling, or low voltage environments
- Ability to read and interpret floor plans, riser diagrams, and cabling schedules
- Strong understanding of rack builds, cable terminations, and infrastructure design
- Proficiency in cost estimation, data analysis, and project planning
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project, etc.)
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in data center or related environments (preferred)
- Degree or relevant technical background (preferred)
- Ability to travel periodically for site visits and client meetings
