The lamination operator plays a crucial role within our lamination department. In this role, you will be responsible for operating a COMEXI solventless laminator, ensuring the production of high-quality flexible packaging materials.
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Operation:
- Operate and maintain a COMEXI solventless laminator machine efficiently.
- Monitor and adjust machine settings to achieve the desired quality and output.
- Conduct routine quality checks to ensure product specifications are met.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any operational issues promptly.
- Collaborate with the production team to meet production targets and quality standards.
- Initiate the start up and running of jobs in keeping with the production schedule.
- Communication:
- Collaborate with Lamination Assistant and other team members to ensure that the process requirements for each job are met.
- Maintain accurate records, logs and paperwork.
- Accurately and precisely carry out detailed instructions.
- Communicate any issues or deviations.
- Cleaning and Maintenance:
- Perform routine equipment maintenance and upkeep.
- Remain alert to mechanical problems and refer as necessary to maintenance.
- Assist with the maintenance and cleaning of adhesive mixing and applier equipment to ensure its proper functioning.
- Keep workspace clean and organized for efficiency in shift changeovers.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety guidelines especially when handling adhesives and chemicals.
- Wear appropriate protective clothing, including safety shoes which meet ASTM F2413 standards for Impact resistance. Compression resistance and Metatarsal protection.
- Comply with GMP and SQF guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations related to adhesive disposal and storage.
- Basic knowledge of the operation of a laminator machine

The Laminator Operator position is responsible for setting up the laminating machine, performing safety checks, and ensuring the proper materials are in place. An operator will operate the laminating machine, maintain the rollers and materials, read and interpret job tickets and specifications, input the correct settings, monitor equipment, and troubleshoot any problems that arise during the operation of the laminating machine. The position requires that the operator set up and run high-quality products at optimum speeds with little supervision. Depending on customer volume and the needed output demands, this position may work beyond the typical workday. This position has a moderate to high demand for tight deadlines and can experience mild interruptions in workflow, often starting and stopping for product changeovers.
Physical Requirements
- Continuous (6 to 10 hours per day) bending, pushing, pulling, climbing stairs, reaching, lifting, and grasping.
