About the Company
Tehama Tire Service, one of the oldest commercial tire dealers in northern California, is looking for a Commercial and/or Passenger Light Truck Tire Technician for its store in Arcata, CA. With 8 commercial truck tire service centers, a retread plant, and a central distribution center, we provide service to small local fleets, large national accounts, government entities, public utilities, as well as retail customers in the greater Arcata area.
Tehama Tire is an employee-owned company founded in Red Bluff, CA in 1973. The Commercial Tire Technician is also eligible for a bonus incentive program.
No experience required for this position! We will provide the training you need to succeed! All of our current store managers started in this position. We proudly promote our employees from within our company.
Starting Pay: $17.00 per hour
About the Position
- Mount, dismount, repair, and balance commercial truck tires and passenger/light truck tires (we provide training)
- Perform a variety of manual tasks for extended periods of time, which may include light and heavy lifting, standing, bending, and squatting.
Minimum Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age
- Valid driver’s license for at least 2 years and a clean DMV driving record (required to drive company owned service trucks)
- Ability to pass a standard pre-employment drug test
- Commitment to follow all safety procedures and work in a safe manner
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous tire experience (preferred, but not required)
- Mechanical aptitude

Work Schedule
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Position also requires candidate to be on-call on a rotating basis with other tire technicians. Overtime is paid for after-hours service calls.
