What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inbound Raw Materials Auditor position at Tegra?
Summary
This position will be trained and certified internally according to the manuals of our clients.
Execute the raw materials inspection process using the costumer’s specific system (4-point system), identifying textile or trims & accessories defects and scoring them according to the method and defect size, following customer tolerances.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that the fabric received from textile suppliers meets the quality standards required by the customer.
- Inspect defects in fabrics using the 4-point system method.
- Consult with the supervisor about questionable defects for prompt resolution.
- Review major defects with the Manager/Supervisor for follow-up.
- Maintain fabric inspection files on the company’s drive.
- Compare vendor reports with Tegra inspection reports.
- Follow up on recurring defects to alert the procurement department.
- Photograph defects and cut two samples of each for vendor claims when exceeding allowable points.
- Prepare clear 4-point inspection reports for all rejected rolls.
- Place rejected fabric in a separate fabric rack location marked with a red sticker.
- Mark approved fabric after audit with a green sticker.
- Enter & save inspection reports into the company’s drive.
- Penalize defects depending on size (1, 2, 3, or 4 points).
- Manage tolerances established by customers.
- Perform calculations to report percentage of affected yardage.
- Learn to use the mapping system for defective fabrics to charge vendors for lost yardage.
- Tag identified defects with stickers.
- Place fabric confirmed as rejected by the Quality Manager in “Rejected” status in access base inventory control application.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of quality control in raw materials (fabric, trims and accessories) in apparel industry (preferred, the company will train)
- Knowledge of reading textile lab tests (preferred, the company will train)
- Intermediate Microsoft Office 365
- English (required)
- Strong attendance
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality.
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to continually stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift about 30 pounds above shoulders.
- Able to work 10 hrs per day (Monday through Thursday), occasionally Friday as needed (optional).
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- High school education (preferred)

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
