TEGNA, the parent company of 64 television stations in 51 U.S. markets, is looking for an innovative, experienced television anchor to develop newscasts for the company’s OTT/CTV streaming platforms. Streaming is a strategic priority for the company as we evolve to meet the needs of audiences seeking timely information on breaking and developing news and severe weather on the platform they need it most.
This role requires the skills of a traditional linear broadcast anchor with an affinity or interest in breaking and developing news. It will be delivered exclusively to customers with connected televisions and apps. We value a collaborative and motivated journalist who works well within a team to bring the truth to our growing audience across various platforms, starting with our streaming and broadcast services.
Experience on an anchor desk, responding live-time to multiple live images and feeds, a keen interest in newsgathering and responsiveness and a proven track record of anchoring high-quality content will make your application stand out. Responsibilities

Our 401(k) program offers full, part-time and temporary employees the opportunity to contribute 1% - 80% of their pay on a pre-tax basis to TEGNA’s 401(k). Contributions made up to the first 4% of pay are eligible for a 100% match from the company and are 100% vested from day one.
Regardless of participation in TEGNA medical plans, ALL employees and their eligible family members receive nine free virtual doctor’s appointments with a physician through Teladoc, and 12 free annual therapy sessions with a licensed clinician through Spring Health.
TEGNA offers a generous Paid Time Off (PTO) benefit as well as nine paid holidays per year.

Responsibilities
- Anchor multiple livestreams daily.
- Generate unique and compelling stories and show ideas around topics impacting our country.
- Take a leadership role in content and production.
- Collaborate with producers, reporters, photojournalists, managers, and other TEGNA team members.
- Edit together video specials/re-racked content that will work for VOD purposes.
- Regularly explore new ideas following careful discussions with supervisors.
- Challenge the traditional way of doing things.
- Passion for breaking news and go-getter attitude.

- At least 5 years of reporting and anchoring experience.
- Strong on-camera delivery with the ability to ad-lib.
- Strong leadership qualities with prior experience motivating, engaging and recognizing team members on multiple projects.
- The ability to coach and collaborate with teammates on content projects.
- Sound news judgment and a proven track record of recognizing enterprise content.
- Experience using ENPS and desktop video editing software such as Edius, strongly preferred.
- Desire to live and work in-person in Charlotte, North Carolina.
