What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Manager - Youth Workforce Development position at Teen Leaders of America?
The Teen Leaders of America (TLA) workforce development programs help to empower youth to make positive life choices that enable them to maximize their potential. Core components of the program will include: college/career exploration, leadership/socio-emotional development, academic support; and will offer social enrichment and community service projects. The TLA program will target students from Duval County schools (private, charter, public, home school) in grades 6-12. By joining our village of adults and community members who care about youth, this position can help youth develop and reach positive academic, career, and personal goals. The expectations of this role are as follows:
Program Management and Execution:
- Act as the liaison between funders, Duval County Public Schools and Teen Leaders of America for all youth programming related needs
- Work with Site Managers to ensure youth activities align with program and or funding requirements and program calendars are developed and implemented
- Proactively work to analyze potential risks to protect TLA from liability claims from programming; immediately documenting and reporting all injuries and incidents according to TLA policies and procedures
- Communicate with school staff, TLA staff, parents and students on a regular basis with updates on programming
- Work to recruit and retain youth in TLA programming, and help market services to schools, parents and students
- Ensure staff complete all required trainings as applicable (i.e. CPR, Trauma, Program Quality Assessment)
- Assist Site Managers in managing Units of Service (UOS) data requirements (on-site daily); and ensure all attendance documentation is provided to the Data Manager
Program Evaluation and Outcomes:
- Train staff on program goals and required outcomes from donors, funders, grants, etc.
- Manage all Site Visits ensuring TLA aligns with program evaluation requirements
Time Commitment:
- 30-40 hours per week
- Must be available for all trainings, meetings and to provide in-person support for on-site out of school time programming
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or at least 5 years experience managing staff, developing youth programs and grant programs
- CPR Certification
- Have a passion for youth
- Adhere to all program policies and procedures
- Be dependable and consistent in meeting the time commitments
- Willing to communicate regularly with program staff, submit activity reports and take constructive feedback
- Have access to an automobile, auto insurance, and a good driving record
- Be able to pass a criminal background check (including sexual offender and child abuse)
