Location: Birmingham, AL — Local field sales and in-office - Open to Relocation Candidates!
Compensation: $60,000–$70,000 base salary plus 8% commission draw
Schedule: Monday–Friday, day shift
Reports to: Sales Manager of Birmingham

Our client, a full-service moving and relocation company, is seeking an Outside Sales Representative who knows how to find opportunities, build relationships, and close business. If you have a track record of generating your own sales and want ownership of your pipeline, this is an opportunity to make an impact on a small, collaborative team.

The company provides residential and commercial moving services, storage solutions, and interior designer installations. Its business is moving and relocation—not freight or long-haul trucking.

The Opportunity

This is a prospecting-driven outside sales role for a true hunter. You will build your own pipeline through cold outreach, networking, in-person visits, and territory development. Success requires generating new business rather than relying on a warm lead list or walk-in traffic.

This position requires daily presence in the Birmingham area. You will meet prospects in the field and work from the office when you are not out on appointments. You will work alongside the Sales Manager and Sales Office Administrator.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and execute a territory sales plan using market research and prospect data.
• Identify potential clients, secure your own appointments, and manage the full sales cycle from initial outreach through closing.
• Generate opportunities through consistent daily calls, cold outreach, networking, and in-person visits.
• Sell residential and commercial moving services, storage solutions, and interior designer installations.
• Understand each prospect’s needs and recommend the right services.
• Handle objections, answer service questions, and confidently ask for the business.
• Prepare accurate proposals, booking packages, and sales reports.
• Maintain current prospect records and pipeline activity in the CRM.
• Adjust your approach based on activity, results, and market opportunities.

What You Bring

• At least 2 years of outside sales experience, with demonstrated success generating your own business.
• Strong prospecting, relationship-building, presentation, and closing skills.
• Resilience, persistence, and the ability to keep moving after hearing “no.”
• The initiative to manage your schedule and hold yourself accountable for activity and results.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM software, and sales management tools.
• A valid driver’s license.
• The ability to travel within your territory approximately 70–80% of the time, with occasional overnight stays for training or events.
• A high school diploma or GED. A bachelor’s degree in business or marketing is preferred.
• Residence in—or willingness to relocate to—the Birmingham area for daily field and office work.

Experience in moving and relocation is a plus. Candidates from roofing, solar, logistics, or other prospecting-intensive outside sales environments are also encouraged to apply.
