Pay Range: $40.00 - $45.00 / hour
Role Overview
Our major insurance client is hiring two experienced Commercial Auto, Bodily Injury, and General Liability Claims Examiner III professionals to join their Casualty team. This is a fully remote, direct-handling role for a seasoned casualty professional who can independently drive claims from first review through final resolution—including litigated matters.
You will own your file inventory end-to-end: coverage analysis, investigation, exposure assessment, reserving, negotiation, and settlement. You will work directly with clients, defense counsel, claimants, and their legal representatives, and your recommendations on loss exposure and settlement strategy will carry real weight.
Please note: Active New York State AND California Adjuster Licenses are required for this position. Applications without both cannot be considered.
What You'll Do
- Claims Management: Review and interpret coverage, then process and conclude assigned Auto, Bodily Injury, and General Liability casualty claims across multiple jurisdictions—both litigated and non-litigated.
- Oversight: Direct and oversee outside investigative service providers, working closely with the client, client counsel, and investigative services to move claims to conclusion.
- Financial Assessment: Continually assess exposure and set accurate reserves with supported settlement recommendations.
- Reporting: Prepare Loss Reports with a thorough analysis of coverage, liability, and damages.
- Recovery: Identify subrogation and risk transfer opportunities and initiate recovery efforts at the client's direction.
- File Maintenance: Maintain an active, disciplined claim diary, and document all correspondence, reports, discussions, and decisions in the claim file record.
- Client Relations: Deliver a consistently high level of service to the client.
What You'll Need
Required Qualifications:
- Licensure: Active New York State & California Adjuster Licenses.
- Experience: Minimum 3 to 5 years of Commercial Auto, Bodily Injury, and General Liability claims handling experience.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED.
- Core Knowledge: Working knowledge of claims handling concepts, practices, and techniques—including coverage issues, litigation management, and product line knowledge.
- Skills: Demonstrated advanced analytical, decision-making, and negotiation skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills, and computer proficiency.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Additional state adjuster licenses.
- Solid understanding of the litigation process and case valuation across multiple jurisdictions.
- Proven ability to manage a file inventory with minimal supervision, following company guidelines and industry best practices.
- Strong time management, organization, and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent customer service instincts and sound independent judgment.
