About TEDxBellingham Square

TEDxBellingham Square is a people-powered, volunteer-led initiative bringing Chelsea’s first-ever TEDx event to life in 2027. Rooted in the city’s diversity and resilience, we aim to platform bold ideas, elevate local voices, and connect Chelsea to a global audience through storytelling.

This summer, we are building the foundation—growing our audience, deepening community partnerships, and capturing the stories that will shape our stage.

About the Internship

We are looking for a Creative Media Intern who is passionate about storytelling through photography, digital media, and community engagement.

This is not a typical internship—you will play a lead role in shaping the visual identity and voice of TEDxBellingham Square during a critical growth phase. You will document the movement as it’s being built, while helping us tell stories that reflect the energy, diversity, and brilliance of Chelsea.

What You’ll Do

Photography

  • Capture high-quality photos at community events and partner activations
  • Build a visual library that reflects the energy, diversity, and identity of Chelsea • Identify and document moments that tell compelling, authentic stories

Digital Storytelling

  • Co-lead the creative direction of our Instagram and digital presence
  • Manage an editorial calendar featuring local leaders, organizations, and ideas
  • Create and publish content aligned with TEDxBellingham Square’s voice
  • Engage with our audience through comments, DMs, and ongoing conversation

Leadership & Brand Ambassadorship

  • Plan and lead one community activation event in July
  • Represent TEDxBellingham Square at meetings and events alongside the Founder
  • Contribute ideas to shape brand strategy, partnerships, and community engagement
  • Serve as a visible, trusted voice of the brand—online and in the community

Who We’re Looking For

This role is ideal for someone who:

  • Is a strong photographer with an eye for storytelling, culture, and community moments
  • Has a deep connection to Chelsea—its people, neighborhoods, and especially the youth
  • Is a current high school/college student passionate about media or a related field
  • Is excited about community, creativity, and impact-driven work
  • Has experience (or strong interest) in digital storytelling
  • Is comfortable taking initiative, leading projects, and bringing creative ideas to life
  • Is interested in building a career in marketing, media, creative direction, or storytelling

Strong preference for candidates who are students/graduates of Chelsea Public Schools or have demonstrated experience working within the Chelsea community.

What You’ll Gain
  • A portfolio of meaningful, real-world work tied to a major community initiative
  • Direct mentorship from the Founder of TEDxBellingham Square
  • Experience in brand-building, event production, and digital strategy
  • Opportunities to build relationships with local leaders and organizations
  • A chance to help shape a platform that will amplify voices from Chelsea to a global audience
