We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Child Care Program Director to lead our nature-based early childhood education program. The Program Director will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring compliance with licensing regulations, supervising staff, and maintaining high standards of care and education.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the center, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and high-quality learning environment.
- Train & supervise, and evaluate teaching and support staff.
- Ensure compliance with State of MI child care licensing regulations and health and safety requirements.
- Implement age-appropriate creative curriculum and programming.
- Maintain open and effective communication with families, staff, and community partners.
- Manage budgeting, enrollment, and administrative tasks.
- Foster a positive and collaborative team culture that promotes staff retention and professional growth.
Qualifications
- At least 21 years of age
- High School Diploma and/or GED
- Meet one of the listed qualifications below
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in early childhood education, with at least 1 year in a leadership or management role.
- Knowledge of state licensing regulations and accreditation standards (CLASS, MIAEYC, ).
- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to pass background checks and meet all state-mandated requirements.
Must meet at least one of these qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a child related field.
- Obtain a Montessori Credential.
- Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development.
- Valid CDA
