What are the responsibilities and job description for the Full-time Childcare Site Manager / Assistant Director position at Teddy Bear Corner?
Teddy Bear Corner is a private childcare center that has been in operation for over 25 years, creating a cozy, home-like environment that combines planned educational activities and spontaneous play for children of all ages. We are looking for a responsible, dedicated, resourceful, and dependable experienced leader with a professional approach to work full time.
This position will primarily be at our Infant/Toddler program where the right candidate will demonstrate their abilities to show leadership and expertise within a small program of approximately 35 children and a staff of six. Our ideal candidate would be an experienced educator, must be an excellent communicator (in English), detailed and able to multi-task in an ever-changing, fast paced environment as well as possess strong leadership qualities.
We are hoping that the ideal candidate will be willing to spend a good amount of time in the classroom, closely supervising the team of employees (including supporting, educating and training of new staff members), as well as the children in our care. This is not solely an administrative position.
Please note that we are a full year program and this is a full-time position with a set, full-time schedule with hours ranging from 7:00 AM until 5:30 PM.
Minimum requirements-
Experience: minimum two and a half years experience in a childcare setting, prior lead teacher or administrative experience is strongly preferred.
Education: minimum of an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education is required for this position. Candidates with a Bachelor's or higher (in any education or child-related field of study) is preferred, as well as candidates who already possess a Head Teacher's Certificate from the state of CT and/or CT Director's Credential, however, TBC would be willing to pay for both certificates if needed for the right individual.
