We are seeking an experienced Van Builder - Shop Foreman to lead our team in building custom vans with precision and quality. This leadership role combines hands-on building with team management, process improvement, and project oversight. The ideal candidate is a systems thinker who thrives on order, problem-solving, and ensuring projects are completed on time and to the highest standards.
Responsibilities
- Install exterior components (bumpers, suspensions, windows, flares) and build complete interiors with precision.
- Specialize in electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems for custom builds. Manage, train, and mentor a team of skilled builders, while collaborating with the Owner to set goals and deadlines.
- Ensure all work complies with shop safety standards, maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Oversee inventory, tools, and material management. Report any shortages or damaged items to the Owner.
- Ensure work meets torque specifications, performance standards, and quality expectations.
- Troubleshoot issues during the build process, ensuring smooth and timely project execution.
- 5 years of relevant van building or related trade experience
- 3 years of team leadership experience
- Expertise in van building systems (electrical, plumbing, mechanical integration)
- Skilled in using hand and power tools (drills, saws, routers, etc.)
- Strong safety knowledge and ability to enforce safe work practices Advanced construction math skills
- Ability to create and follow systems and SOPs
- Excellent communication skills and experience with customer-facing roles Proficiency with Google Suite (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Calendar, etc.) and CRM platforms
- Competitive pay: $72,800 to $93,600 per year, based on experience
- Paid time off (PTO): 3 weeks per year, increasing with tenure
