Level B Field Service Technician - Job Description

Tecogen Level B Field Service Technicians work on our energy-efficient line of stationary engines and assist with territory operations. This position provides the opportunity to work for one of the largest cogeneration companies in the area, providing combined heat and power as well as cooling to our customers. The successful applicant will report to the Field Service Supervisor.

Level B Field Service Technician Responsibilities:

· Assist in scheduled maintenance tasks for assigned territory clients

· Develop the appropriate procedures for logging work in compliance with established guidelines

· Takes ownership of company assigned tools

· Works directly with an assigned and experienced service technician for mandatory training including but not limited to,

o Client specifications

o Different types of generators in place on client site(s)

o Full cycle knowledge of refrigeration cycle

o Full cycle knowledge of electronic circuits

o Full cycle knowledge of engine diagnostics

o Full cycle knowledge of engine repair

o Perform on-site and shop maintenance and cleaning of systems (HX flush, punch tubes, etc.)

o Perform electrical and sensor repairs to field equipment

o Perform work on minor Schedule A and B maintenance on equipment (oil changes, leaks, hoses, etc.)

o Perform scheduled A and B maintenance on equipment

o Repair disabled units, including their subsystems (controls, switchgear, compressors, piping, and sensors)

o Troubleshoot and repair AC/DC electrical circuits within Tecogen’s equipment

o Takes full ownership of assigned company provided tools

o Assists coworkers with necessary on-site housekeeping and/or organization of warehouse area

o Responsible for cleanliness and maintenance of company issued vehicle, either solely or in partnership with other assigned high level technician

o Responsible for safety protocols to assigned jobs

o All other duties as assigned

Level B Field Service Technician Qualifications:

· Previous experience as Apprentice and Level C Field Service Technician

· Clean and valid driver’s license (operates company supplied vehicle)

· Ability to read and follow manuals, electrical, and mechanical diagrams

· Strong interpersonal and communications skills

· Motivation to become self-sufficient and educated on Tecogen products and troubleshooting techniques

· Ability to be flexible with changing daily priorities in a fast-paced environment

Physical Requirements:

· Driving company vehicle

· Constant sitting, standing, squatting, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds

· Client sites may vary

· Frequent exposure to varying weather conditions

Schedule:

· 8-hour shift

· Day shift

· Monday to Friday

· Overtime Eligible

· On Call Rotation Participation (where applicable based on territory)

Job Type: Full-Time

Pay: $32.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
