Responsibilities:
- Turf Maintenance- Mowing, Trimming, Edging
- Plant Maintenance- Shrub Pruning, Tree Trimming, Seasonal Cut-back
- Bed Maintenance- Weed Pulling/Spraying, Mulch Installation
- Hardscape Maintenance- Debris/Trash Removal from Sidewalks/Parking Lots/Roadways, etc.
- Landscape Installation Projects – Renovations including Sod Install, Planting, etc.
- Inclement Weather Maintenance- Storm Debris Removal, Snow/Ice Preparations/Clean-up
- Equipment Maintenance – Changing/Charging Batteries, Changing/Sharpening Blades, Checking/Plugging Tires, Assists in Changing Engine Oils/Fluids. Cleaning/Washing Equipment
- Shop/Truck Maintenance- Cleaning/Organizing equipment/tools, etc.
- Other: Occasionally aid the operations team as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or GED
- One year of operating on a crew of groundskeepers, landscape technicians, or equivalent is also necessary to meet minimum requirements
- Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions; ability to establish effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, and the public.
- The use of tools and motorized equipment is commonly used in this vocation
- The use of tractors, pickup trucks, and a variety of common grounds maintenance equipment
- Utilizing computers
- Must have a valid driver’s license to operate a motor vehicle in the state of South Carolina and possess an acceptable driving record.
- Principles, materials, and methods of grounds maintenance and repair
- Methods and techniques of grounds maintenance
- Safety and accident prevention practices
- Horticulture and landscape maintenance
- Standing and walking for extended periods of time.
- Repetitive motion.
- Frequent bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and climbing ladders.
- Occasional lifting up to 50lbs – team lifts over 50lbs.
- Perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions
- Able to work in various temperature conditions.
Internal Qualifications:
- No final warnings
- No more than 6 attendance points
- Efficiency and Quality goals met for the previous 3 months.
- Must be in current role for 6 months.
- Must meet all job description requirements.
