What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sales Associate: STEM Education Programs position at TechTerra Education?
Are you passionate about the future of education? We provide hands-on STEM in a Box programs for students from Pre-K through High School, and we’re looking for a driven, high-energy Sales Associate to help us get these tools into more classrooms across the country.
This isn't a "sit behind a desk" kind of job. You’ll be working from our Chapel Hill office, but you'll also hit the road to showcase our programs in person. If you have the "gift of gab" and a genuine interest in empowering the next generation of scientists and engineers, we want to talk to you.
The Role
You will be responsible for driving the growth of our STEM programs through outreach, demonstrations, and relationship building.
- Consultative Selling: Connect with school administrators and educators to explain how our "STEM in a Box" solutions solve their curriculum needs.
- Hands-on Demos: Set up and showcase our physical kits at schools and educational conferences.
- Travel: Travel up to 25% of the time across the Continental U.S. to attend trade shows and site visits.
- In-Office Collaboration: Work daily with the team in Chapel Hill to refine pitches and track sales goals.
Physical & Travel Requirements
- Travel: Ability to travel up to one week per month (25%) nationally.
- Physicality: Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs (our STEM kits are packed with awesome gear, and they need some muscle to transport and set up).
- On-Site: This is a dedicated in-office position in Chapel Hill.
What You Bring to the Table
- The Spark: An entry-level candidate who is hungry, coachable, and eager to master the sales process.
- Public Speaking: Comfort presenting to groups—whether it's three teachers or an auditorium of administrators.
- The Experience: Teaching or education-related experience that helps you easily see how these programs can benefit students.
- Organization: The ability to manage your own travel logistics and follow-up schedules.
- Mission-Driven: A belief that STEM education should be accessible and engaging.
Perks & Benefits
- Competitive Pay: Base salary plus a commission structure that rewards your hard work.
- Adventure: See the country while making a difference in the education sector.
- Team Culture: Join a supportive, local team that values face-to-face collaboration.
- Full Benefits: Health, dental, vision, 401(k) with match, and PTO.
How to Apply:
Submit your resume and a short cover letter. Bonus points if you can tell us about a teacher or a STEM project that inspired you growing up!
