Position Overview:
The Sr. Full Stack Java Developer will support the design, development, and maintenance of web applications and systems for a federal agency. The candidate will collaborate with other developers and stakeholders to deliver secure, efficient, and user-friendly solutions in compliance with federal standards and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in the complete software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
- Design, code, and maintain both front-end and back-end components for web-based and batch processing applications using Java, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Angular or React.
- Collaborate with team members and project stakeholders to troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance application features.
- Conduct unit testing, debugging, and participate in peer code reviews.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation and user manuals as required for federal compliance.
- Work within Agile teams and participate in daily standups and sprint planning.
- Ensure security and compliance standards are implemented and maintained.
- Respond to change management requests and support deployment to development, staging, and production environments.
Required Skills:
- Strong proficiency in Java, HTML, CSS, JavaScript
- Experience with Angular or React frameworks
- Knowledge of front-end development principles and responsive design
- Familiarity with databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) is a plus
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing is an advantage
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Analytical mindset and attention to detail
- Ability to work in fast-paced, secure federal environments
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Spring Boot or RESTful API development
- Exposure to automated deployment tools (e.g., Jenkins) and version control (e.g., Git)
- Experience delivering solutions in Agile environments
- Familiarity with federal compliance, cybersecurity, or government application standards
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
