Pay Range: $100 - $125,000 annually

 

Your Opportunity: 

TechSource is hiring a full-time Correspondence Specialist to support NA-10, the Office of Defense Programs (DP) within the Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration (DOE/NNSA). You will provide direct support for managing, editing, and distributing all executive correspondence including congressional reports, inquiries, letters/memorandum, read-ahead materials, proposed remarks, and other strategic communications. You’ll be in the center of all DP activity. You’ll work daily in the DOE Forrestal Building in Washington, DC.  

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Deputy Administrator’s Action Group (DAAG) and staff from the NNSA and DOE Executive Secretariat offices for reviews, concurrence, and signatures on documents awaiting executive review/action by the Deputy Administrator of Defense Programs (DADP), NNSA Administrator, or Secretary of Energy.
  • Review, edit, and develop materials, including briefings, remarks, talking points, and other documentation supporting the NNSA Administrator, DADP, and other senior staff to ensure alignment with current policy.
  • Assist in responding to actions, implementing communication and organizational processes, and preparing and reviewing documents, presentations, and speeches for the DADP.
  • Assist the Nuclear Weapons Council (NWC) staff with NNSA Executive Action Officer website management, document management, and administration. 
  • Manage incoming correspondence; make initial determination of office of primary responsibility; make office task assignments, track progress, and provide guidance on content and format.
  • Assist in researching, identifying, and analyzing geo-political, technical, and economic issues that must be addressed in responding to correspondence.
  • Analyze written products for clarity, ensure conclusions reached are consistent with the facts presented. Assist in the preparation of correspondence for review/signature by NNSA senior leadership.
  • Collaborate with other NNSA offices to support congressional, intergovernmental, and public affairs activities, including managing and supporting responses to Requests for Information (RFIs).
  • Manage control of classified documents. Assist with classified material, property management, classified removable electronic media management, use control site coordination, accountability for special access, and vault custodian. Assist with records management.

Salary : $100,000 - $125,000
